Akram Al-Hourani is a seasoned academic and engineering professional with extensive experience in signal processing, satellite communications, wireless communications, machine learning, and radar technologies. Currently serving as a Professor and Discipline Leader at RMIT University since 2016, Akram has held various positions, including Program Manager for the Master of Engineering in Telecommunication and Network Engineering, and Associate Professor. Akram’s academic contributions include teaching courses in Internet-of-Things access networks and satellite communications, alongside editorial roles for IEEE journals. Prior experience includes a Post-Doc Research Fellowship at The University of Melbourne, as well as a strong industry background as R&D Engineering Program Manager at Inteltec Emirates, leading significant communication projects. Akram holds a PhD in Wireless Communication from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Communication Engineering from Beirut Arab University.
