Jagadeesh Rao is a highly experienced Principal Scientist at IGC Pharma, providing technical leadership in small molecule drug development from preclinical stages to FDA-approved investigational drugs under cGMP conditions since September 2017. Prior to this role, Jagadeesh served as a Principal Scientist and Scientific Review Officer at the National Institutes of Health, focusing on clinical pharmacology and drug development from July 2003 to January 2017. Jagadeesh also has a strong background in neuropsychopharmacology, having established animal models for bipolar disorder and discovered pathological epigenetic signatures related to both bipolar disorder and Alzheimer’s disease. Early career experience includes a Postdoctoral Scientist position at Johnson & Johnson, where CNS drug mechanisms were explored, and research roles at HIMALAYA WELLNESS, conducting clinical trials. Jagadeesh holds a PhD in Neurochemistry from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences and a postdoctoral degree in Neuroscience and Psychiatry from the University of Illinois Chicago.
