Emily Ellis

Emily Ellis is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of genomics and bioinformatics. Currently serving as a Field Application Scientist II at Illumina since June 2021, Emily has received multiple awards for service and support, including the Service and Support Distinction Award in Q4-2022. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher position at the University of Florida, where genomic and transcriptomic studies were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Akito Kawahara. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology, and an MA in the same field from UC Santa Barbara, complemented by a BS in Biology from the University of Connecticut. Emily's research background features significant contributions to understanding species evolution and robust bioinformatics analysis, alongside a strong foundation in teaching various biology-related courses.
