Sarah De Smet is a PhD student at Ghent University since July 2021 and a researcher and lecturer at Arteveldehogeschool since March 2020. With extensive experience as a consultant in gender at Includovate starting in January 2020 and previously as a trainer at Universitair Centrum voor Ontwikkelingssamenwerking (UCOS), Sarah has a strong background in project management and gender empowerment, exemplified by a role as Project Manager for the Gender Empowerment in Markets Project at SNV Ethiopia from February 2016 to June 2019. Early career roles include Product Manager at Oxfam Fairtrade, Consultant at Durabilis, and Advisor in Market Chain and Rural Economic Development at SNV. Sarah also served as a North-South Advisor at Trias vzw and as a Student Monitor at Ghent University. Sarah holds multiple master's degrees, including one in Applied Economic Sciences, Conflict and Development, and Teacher’s training from Ghent University.
