Arun Tiwari

A career banker with over thirty-nine years of experience, acquiring a wide range of experience in areas of strategic planning, project finance, risk management, HR, IT, credit operations, etc. He served as CMD of Union Bank of India from Dec 2013 to June 2017. Prior to that he was Executive Director of Allahabad Bank. At his parent organisation - Bank of Baroda, he worked for 33 years at various centres in India and abroad across all functional areas. Mr Tiwari has served as Chairman and Non-Executive Director on the Board of Union Asset Management Company and as also Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Limited. In his long career he has also served on the Boards of New India Assurance Co. Ltd., General Insurance Corporation Ltd, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Ltd. He was Deputy Chairman of Indian Banks’ Association, as well. Some of the National Level Committees, he served on are – Chairman, Banking and Financial Institution committee of FICCI, Co-chairperson, CII’s Committee on Banking & Finance, Chairman of Standing Committee on Risk Management & Basel Implementation, Indian Banks Association, etc Mr. Tiwari holds Post Graduate degree in Chemistry. During his career, he has done assignment under the aegis of World Bank apart from being part of many programmes at Kellogg School of Management, Arthur D’Little (Boston), ISB, Hyderabad, IIT, Mumbai etc.
