Senior Analyst

Engineering · Full-time · Remote

InfluxData is the creator of InfluxDB, the open source time series database.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our growing Analytics Team. This person will be a foundational member of our team and help to define the growth of the function and our analytics stack. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics, this person will be responsible for growing our knowledge of our product, our customers, and their behavior, and for finding innovative ways for us to use data to make better decisions.

Our team values diversity in background and experiences. We do our best work when we create space for different ideas and perspectives - whatever unique background you have, we look forward to getting to learn from each other.

What You’ll do

This person will own a range of projects and work with folks from Engineering, Product, Sales, Marketing, and more. We are highly collaborative and looking for someone excited to work with teams across the business. Our Analytics team reports into our GM of Cloud and is hyper-focused on using data to drive growth within our Cloud product.

Cross Functional Efforts

  • Be comfortable prioritizing competing initiatives across different departments
  • Work with the Sales function to drive insights that improve efficiency in our processes
  • Work with the Marketing team to use data to better understand and market to our users
  • Partner with folks across the business to understand where there are blind spots that can be addressed with data
  • Be proactive in identifying ways in which we can support other teams with data
  • Work with teams across the business to consolidate data into our central analytics warehouse (Snowflake)

360 View of our Users

  • Combine data from disparate sources into one view of our users from first touch to conversion and beyond
  • Tell a story with data through write-ups and presentations to our senior leadership - we think data is not useful until it can be put in context
  • Build out our ETL infrastructure to get data from disparate systems into a central warehouse (Snowflake)
  • Use a tool like dbt to manage and automate data transformations using SQL and either python or R
  • Build dashboards that tell a story with this data in our BI tool (Domo) to democratize insights across the company

Advanced Analytics

  • Identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics methods to drive better decisions
  • Be comfortable running analysis on A/B tests and building out advanced predictive models
  • Know how to balance statistical rigor with speed, and be comfortable delivering projects iteratively as we build out our data stack

What you bring to the role

  • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders at a high growth company, bonus points for experience working with a sales team
  • A desire to own projects and prioritize them effectively
  • A deep intellectual curiosity - a desire to dive into problems and look for patterns
  • Ability to tell stories with data - we are always looking for the “so what” in our analysis
  • Experience using R, python, or another scripting language. Bonus points for experience with libraries such as dplyr, shiny, numpy, pandas etc
  • Experience working in SQL
  • Bonus points for experience with Salesforce or another CRM
  • We are unable to sponsor visas at this time (new or transfers) in any location*
