Alvaro Gomez-Rey Romero

Alvaro Gomez-Rey Romero is a seasoned professional in the field of transportation infrastructure engineering, currently serving as Technical and Commercial Director at Ingérop España since November 2019. As the founder and Technical Director of SMART2 since June 2011, Alvaro has been instrumental in coordinating technical aspects of various projects related to transportation facilities, including electrification, signaling, and control centers, with substantial international experience across countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Ghana, and Venezuela. Prior to this, Alvaro held the position of Technical Director at 2iT from February 2006 to June 2011, overseeing similar projects, predominantly in Spain, as well as in Ghana, Romania, Turkey, and Colombia. Alvaro's career began as a Project Manager at AUXITEC from January 2002 to February 2006, coordinating multidisciplinary teams on new Spanish high-speed rail projects. Alvaro holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, obtained between 1993 and 1999.
