Virginia Snyder has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Lead Energy Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank since March 2012. Virginia has a proven track record in preparing energy sector loans and overseeing projects focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and bio-energy across Latin America. Prior to this, Virginia held the position of Associate Program Manager for the California Solar Initiative at the Center for Sustainable Energy, where nearly a thousand residential solar projects were successfully managed. Virginia's background also includes project management with the U.S. Department of Energy, where contributions were made to the Solar America Cities Project. Volunteer experience with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Uruguay emphasizes commitment to community service, particularly aiding low-income families. Virginia holds an MBA in Sustainability Studies from the University of San Diego and has foundational education from New York University and Colegio seminario.
