Anupam Khanna

Anupam Khanna is currently the Director at IndiGo. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Advisor to President at Global Development Network from November 2009 to March 2011 where they initiated preparatory work on two proposed Global Research Projects on Climate Change and on Urbanization in Developing Countries for GDN. Anupam also managed an effort to stimulate policy-relevant research and improve effective outreach to inform discourse on agricultural policies in Africa and South Asia. From September 2011 to August 2014, Anupam Khanna worked as the Chief Economist & Director-General, Policy Outreach at NASSCOM. In this role, they were responsible for leading the design and execution of NASSCOM’s strategies for policy outreach to governments, industry and multilateral bodies (e.g. World Bank, OECD, ADB). This included deepening thought leadership and partnerships with think tanks; and engaging central and state governments on fiscal (e.g. Transfer Pricing), regulatory (e.g. labor laws, internet), and trade & investment (Special Economic Zones, e-Commerce) issues. Anupam Khanna’s efforts also focused on job creation by the IT/ITeS sector and expanding its geographic footprint to Tier2-3 towns.

Anupam Khanna has a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Management Science & Engg as well as Electrical Engg. Anupam also has an MS in Engg-Econ Systems from Stanford University. Prior to that, they completed their BTech in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur.
