Matthew Smith is a Senior Program Specialist at the International Development Research Centre, where responsibilities include the development and management of the Artificial Intelligence for Development in Africa project, a significant partnership co-funded with the Swedish International Development Agency. Matthew has received a Professional Development Award for contributions to 'open development' as an extension of ICT4D work, resulting in a notable working paper titled "open ICT4D."
