Jorge Familiar

Jorge Familiar is an accomplished financial leader with extensive experience in international finance and capital markets, currently serving as the Vice President and Treasurer of the World Bank, where responsibilities include managing capital markets operations and overseeing substantial funding programs and debt portfolios. Previously held roles at the World Bank include Pension Finance Administrator, Vice President for Finance and World Bank Group Controller, and Vice President of Latin America and the Caribbean, where significant contributions were made to regional economic recovery and project management. Jorge Familiar also served as CEO of Instituto FONACOT, successfully leading the institution back to profitability during a global financial crisis. Additionally, as a Trustee for the IFRS Foundation and with past roles in executive leadership at the World Bank and regulatory positions in Mexico, Jorge Familiar has demonstrated a commitment to financial inclusion and governance. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Finance and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
