Elena Pietschmann

Elena Pietschmann is an experienced professional in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and development management, currently serving as an M&E specialist at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) since September 2021. Previous roles at IFAD include regional specialist and programme officer in various divisions, where Elena focused on strengthening M&E systems, supporting rural development projects in West and Central Africa, and contributing to design and implementation support missions. Prior to IFAD, Elena worked as a researcher at the German Development Institute, conducting research on aid effectiveness, and as a programme officer at Sunshine Agro Products in Uganda, where Elena improved market access for farmers through innovative communication strategies. Elena holds advanced degrees in Development Management and Population and Development from prominent institutions, including The London School of Economics and Political Science and Université libre de Bruxelles.
