Terence Fitzgerald

Global Vice President, Program Quality & Measurement at International Justice Mission

Terence Fitzgerald has over 20 years of experience in the international development sector. Terence has held various leadership roles at organizations such as International Justice Mission, Relief International, Concern Worldwide, Oxfam Ireland, and Catholic Relief Services.

At International Justice Mission, Terence worked as the Global Vice President of Program Quality & Measurement, where they led a team focused on research, data science, monitoring & evaluation, and project management. Terence also served as the Vice President of Program Quality & Measurement and Senior Director of Program Design & Evaluation, responsible for enhancing IJM's programs and improving its credibility with donors and local populations.

At Relief International, Terence briefly served as the Regional Director, managing the organization's portfolio in Pakistan and overseeing donor relationships and budget realignments.

During their time at Concern Worldwide, Terence held the position of Assistant Country Director in Angola and Afghanistan. In these roles, they managed multimillion-dollar portfolios and led teams to implement projects, secure funding, and collaborate with government partners and NGOs.

Their career in the international development sector began at Catholic Relief Services, where they worked as a Programming Officer in Sierra Leone and contributed to monitoring activities and project proposals.

Throughout their career, Terence has demonstrated expertise in program design, monitoring & evaluation, project management, and building partnerships. Terence is committed to protecting people from violence and has successfully implemented strategies to enhance program quality and effectiveness.

Terence Fitzgerald holds a High-Performance Leadership Certificate from Cornell University (2018-2019). Terence also has a Master of Science degree in International Development from University College Cork (1993-1995) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Joint Honors in Geography and Sociology from the same university (1990-1993). In addition to their academic qualifications, Terence has obtained several certifications including Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®) from the Project Management Institute in 2014, Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP®) in 2011, and PMD Pro1 from APM Group in 2010.
