John Bluedorn is a seasoned economist with extensive experience at the International Monetary Fund since August 2010, currently serving as Deputy Division Chief in the Regional Analytics and Strategy unit for the Middle East and Central Asia Department, as well as the World Economic Studies division in the Research Department. Previous roles include Senior Economist and Economist positions focusing on euro area economies, investment, and financial architecture. Prior to the IMF, John Bluedorn was a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Southampton and a British Academy Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, in addition to working as a Staff Economist at Laurits R. Christensen Associates, Inc. Educational achievements include a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and an AB in Economics and French from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
