Nick Gigineishvili

Mission Chief For North Macedonia at International Monetary Fund

Nick Gigineishvili has extensive experience in economic policy and international finance, currently serving as Mission Chief for the Kyrgyz Republic and Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund since February 2003. Previous roles at the IMF include Economist focusing on Moldova, Seychelles, and Tanzania, as well as Advisor to the Executive Director representing Georgia at the IMF Board. Prior to joining the IMF, Nick held the position of Head of Macroeconomic Research and Monetary Policy Department at the National Bank of Georgia from July 1998 to January 2003. Educational qualifications include ABD in Economics from New York University, a Master's degree in Economics from Central European University, and a Master's degree in Physics from Tbilisi State University.
