Uraiba Asif

Uraiba Asif is currently serving as a National Programme Officer at IOM - UN Migration since January 2024. Previously, Uraiba held the position of Deputy Director at The President's Office from November 2022 to November 2023 and worked as a Consultant - Social Safeguard Specialist at the Ministry of Education, Maldives from January to July 2023. Uraiba has also contributed to the Ministry of Higher Education as a Social Safeguard Specialist and Assistant Director from March 2019 to November 2022, and served as a Lecturer at The Maldives National University in late 2019. Earlier roles include Research Assistant at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus and an intern with the Maldives Police Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Uraiba's academic credentials include a Doctorate in Social Sciences from the University of Leicester, a Master’s in International Development Management, and a Bachelor’s in International Relations, all complemented by formative educational experiences at Taylor's College, focusing on social sciences.
