Angela Mander

Acting CEO at Invictus Education Trust

Angela is Deputy CEO of our Trust. She spent the year before joining as an Educational Consultant, working independently - including with a local authority, supporting schools with their improvement journey, and offering executive support, focussing on more vulnerable schools. Angela is a trained facilitator for the NPQ programmes (Ambition Institute) and an NCSL accredited Pupil Premium Reviewer.

From 2006 to 2019 Angela was serving head teacher at a successful, over-subscribed, primary school in Halesowen. Under her leadership the school grew from 336 on roll to over 480. The school had a £3 million (government funded) partial newbuild and opened a governor lead nursey under her tenure. Angela became a Local Leader of Education in 2011 and supported several schools on their journey to ‘good’. She was Chair of Halesowen Teaching and Learning Community 2016-2020, and sat on the LA Schools Forum and Budget Working Group. She has a wide understanding of strategic leadership, and believes strongly in developing staff at all levels.

Before Headship Angela worked in a range of primary schools across Sandwell and Dudley, as a teacher across the primary phase, and senior leader. She worked in banking before attaining her BA (hons) and PGCE, commencing her teaching career in 1991.

Angela is also Chair of Governors at a very successful local primary school, and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and walking her dogs!
