Bruce Ecroyd, P.Eng. has extensive work experience in software development and engineering. Bruce began their career in 1987 at Northern Telecom, where they worked as a Reliability Engineer and Test Engineer. At Nortel, they developed cost models and designed low-cost test platforms, saving the company $250K in the first year. Bruce also trained test engineering teams on JTAG boundary scan testing and served as a QMI/ISO 9001 auditor for manufacturing outsourcing.
In 1994, Bruce joined Hewlett-Packard Canada (Ltd.) as a System Verification Engineer, where they managed suppliers, developed internal test equipment and processes, and coordinated the delivery of test system design. Bruce led a team to reduce production issues by 50% and was responsible for test representation on new product introduction teams.
Bruce then moved to Nortel Networks in 1996, where they held roles as a System Design For Testability Engineer and Senior Engineer - Design for Testability. In these positions, they designed and developed DFT hardware and software solutions, implemented DFT across multiple product lines, and performed fault tree analysis and failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis.
From 2005 to 2010, Bruce worked at Cadence Design Systems (Canada) Ltd. as a Sr. Member of Technical Staff. In this role, they created functional specifications, developed software, and supported the introduction of Allegro SiP/APD releases. Bruce also collaborated with software teams in China and India and participated in quality initiatives through code standards and reviews.
Bruce then worked as a Test Engineer at Meriton Networks in 2005 and as a Software Developer at Resonance Microwave Systems, Inc. in 2010.
Most recently, Bruce worked at Cadence Design Systems as a Lead Software Engineer and Senior Software Developer from 2011 to 2015. Bruce developed software, created and supported Allegro System-In-Package co-design and Encounter System-On-Chip IC design software, and collaborated with international teams.
In 2015, Bruce joined Irdeto as a Senior Software Developer, where they are currently employed.
Bruce Ecroyd, P.Eng. holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from Carleton University. In 1990, they obtained a Professional Engineer certification from Professional Engineers Ontario. In 2015, they also obtained a security clearance from the Government of Canada. No specific months are provided for the certifications.
