Sara Perkin

Chief of Staff at Jackson College

Since joining Jackson College in April 2013, Sara has served in the role of Chief of Staff to the President. Part of her role is to serve the Jackson College Board of Trustees in the capacity of Assistant Secretary. Additionally, Sara is responsible for providing leadership to the Department of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, whose work includes compliance reporting, data governance and institutional accreditation. Prior to joining Jackson College, Sara spent over nine years at Siena Heights University and served five of her most recent years as Director of Admissions. Before taking on the position as Director, Sara worked as the Coordinator of Transfer Student Services. Prior to beginning her time at Siena Heights, she worked for Lourdes University as the Assistant Registrar. Sara is a proud alumna of Jackson Community College where she received her Associate of Arts in 2000. She holds her BA in Business Administration from Siena Heights University and her MBA with a concentration in Leadership from the University of Findlay. Sara completed the Michigan Community Colleges Leadership Academy in 2017. Following successful completion of Govern for Impact’s Policy Governance Proficiency program in 2019, she holds the designee of Governance Systems Professional. Sara has also completed Peer Reviewer training for the Standard and Open Pathways with the Higher Learning Commission. Sara is married to her best friend Caleb Perkin, also an alumni of Jackson College and they are a proud blended family with five children; Mason, Makenna, Ryan, Joshua and Trevor.
