Andy Nichols

Andy Nichols is a highly experienced professional in the field of pharmacology, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Research and Nonclinical Development at Jazz Pharmaceuticals since April 2023. Previously, Andy held various leadership roles at Astria Therapeutics, Inc., where responsibilities included setting scientific strategy and guiding research and drug development in niche and rare diseases. Prior roles at Merck, Zafgen, Alinea Pharmaceuticals, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and SmithKline Beecham encompassed extensive leadership in drug discovery across multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiometabolic diseases and oncology. Andy holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Leeds.
