Laura Dutton

Chief Strategy Officer at JEA

Laura Dutton assumed the new role of JEA's Chief Strategy Officer in March 2021. In her role, she leads a team focused on developing and implementing JEA's broad strategic direction, as well as evaluating disruptive industry trends and ways to develop new product offerings and customer-centric service models. Her team includes Analytics, Continuous Improvement, Board Services, Real Estate, New Solutions, Market Development, and Learning and Development.

Ms. Dutton has served the public power industry for more than 17 years at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) with experience in strategy development, planning and analysis. Her early roles at TVA included Procurement, Fuels Analysis, and Operational Performance Analysis. She led the Corporate Business Planning & Analysis team at TVA prior to serving as Senior Advisor for the External Relations organization. She also helped shape the Distributed Energy Resources strategic direction before taking a Senior Advisor role in the Resources & Operations Support organization. Most recently, she was responsible for Talent Planning.

Ms. Dutton earned an accounting degree and a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Alabama. She also has served in a variety of community leadership roles in Chattanooga, including Leadership Chattanooga, the Combined Federal Campaign, and the Junior League of Chattanooga Board of Directors. Currently, she serves on the Supervisory Committee for the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.
