Laurie Zhang

Laurie Zhang is an experienced Process Engineer at Johnson Matthey since November 2021, specializing in sustainable process designs for syngas, hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol, along with purification technologies. Previously served as a Research Scientist focusing on catalyst testing for lower carbon syngas technologies, and provided simulation support for various projects. Laurie is also a certified Yoga Teacher, creating personalized classes to enhance student wellbeing and mindfulness. Laurie completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, where research centered on nanostructured catalysts for CO2 conversion to methanol and involved theoretical studies with a Computational Chemistry group. Additional experience includes a visiting researcher role at the Technical University Munich and participation in various research internships at Imperial College London, along with involvement in an enterprise competition aimed at creating a low-cost oil filtration device.
