iOS Engineer

$120k – $170k • 0.3% – 1.0%

At Jumprope, our mission is to empower you to discover how to do anything. We all learn new things, pursue passions, and develop hacks that we want to share. Until now, it’s been too hard to communicate that know-how in an engaging and useful way. By making it simpler and faster to share in an intuitive format, we’re making it easier and more fun to discover how it’s done. (Download our iOS app: jumprope.com/app)

As a iOS engineer at Jumprope, you’ll work on projects to advance Jumprope’s products and grow the number of creators and viewers using Jumprope everyday. You'll build innovative video/photo capture and manipulation tools (filters, AR effects) to empower creators to develop great content on Jumprope. As we expand our product, you’ll be choosing the technologies we need to build toward our vision. We will look to you to play a leadership role in how we build an engaging and responsive iOS app. You'll get to work closely with two senior iOS engineers.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Owning significant architectural and product areas of the platform - you’ll make the key decisions and see them through to successful user engagement
  • Delivering features that make a big impact on Jumprope’s knowledge-sharing ecosystem
  • Writing high-quality, highly-performant code
  • Pushing changes every week
  • Participating in code reviews and architectural discussions - we want you to bring your expertise to the team and make us all better engineers

You’ll be successful if you are:

  • An expert with Swift, Xcode, and the rest of the iOS ecosystem
  • Collaborative and want to see the team succeed in its goals
  • Practical about tradeoffs between speed and polish
  • Passionate about showing others how to do something new
  • Excited to join a small team that moves quickly

Some must-haves:

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience for the web or mobile
  • 2+ years of professional iOS development experience and mastery of Swift
  • Experience deploying and supporting code in production

The team is small, which means your impact on the company’s success will be huge. You’ll have the chance to work with experienced leaders who have built and led 50-person engineering and product/design teams. We would love to speak to you about this role if you care deeply about building amazing consumer applications, love working on video/photo capture and manipulation tools and are excited about creating the place where the world discovers how it’s done.
