Jay Shatara

Jay Shatara is a seasoned media professional with a strong background in journalism and public information. Currently serving as the Public Information Officer at the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety since April 2022, Jay previously worked at WWMT-TV News Channel 3 as a Reporter/Anchor from June 2021 to April 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a Sports Reporter/Anchor at KHGI/KFXL and Associate Producer at WFOR | CBS Miami. Jay also gained valuable experience as a Sports Intern at WSVN CHANNEL 7 and worked as an Anchor/Reporter for UMTV. Early career internships were completed at Wpec News 12, 790 the Ticket, and The Boca Raton Tribune. Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Miami, obtained in 2018.
