Tal Kaufman

Tal Kaufman is a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, expected to graduate in April 2026. Currently serves as a Design Mentor at FIRST since September 2021. Previous experience includes roles as an Engineering Intern at ABC Technologies, where significant cost-saving opportunities through automation were identified, and as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Kraken Sense, where subsystems for an automated centrifuge were successfully prototyped. Tal also held leadership positions at Silicon Halton and FIRST, as well as a co-op position at Pretium, contributing to project readiness and improving employee documentation formats. Tal's background includes competitive experience with DECA Ontario and foundational education from Garth Webb Secondary School, culminating in a High School Diploma in Energy.
