Abraham Alvarez is currently the Head of Product at Kandji. Prior to this, they were the Founder in Residence at Menlo Ventures from February to April of 2022. Abraham's focus there was on exploring and disrupting the auditing and accounting industries.
Alvarez realized that the current industry revolves around providing assurance for transactions recorded by an individual company. Abraham wondered if there was a way to automatically notarize transactions at the source by both parties, thereby eliminating the duplication of efforts, extensive internal controls and manual labor-intensive processes. Abraham also thought that public blockchains and zero knowledge proofs could be leveraged to eliminate reconciliations and automatically notarize transactions from both parties at the moment they happen without exposing any information publicly.
To further explore this opportunity, Alvarez went deep on ASC 606, current processes and flows. Abraham interviewed over 30 CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, Accounting Managers, professors and industry leaders to learn more about the pain points and potential opportunity.
While at Menlo Ventures, Alvarez remained connected to the Menlo family as part of their Future Founders community.
Abraham Alvarez has a bachelors from Harvard University in Biomedical Engineering with an Electrical Engineering Track and Neurobiology Minor.
