Bishal Pokhrel is a PhD candidate and graduate student researcher in the Shen Lab at Kent State University, focusing on the catalysis of gold nanoparticles through single molecule microscopy. Prior experience includes serving as a graduate teaching assistant for General Chemistry I Laboratory, where responsibilities encompassed teaching lab sessions and grading assignments. Bishal also held the position of secretary for the KSU Biotechnology Club, managing meeting notes and aiding in program development. Additionally, as an undergraduate researcher in the Basu lab, research concentrated on in vitro studies of neuronal oligodendrocyte cells in Multiple Sclerosis modeling. Participation in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program under Dr. Edgar Kooijman further enhanced research expertise. Bishal completed a Bachelor's degree with honors in Biotechnology (Chemistry Minor) and currently pursues a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry at Kent State University.
