Italo Barros is a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in maintenance and equipment management within the mining and construction sectors. Currently serving as the Chefe de Departamento de Execução de Equipamentos Móveis at Kinross Brasil Mineração since January 2023, Italo leads a team focused on executing maintenance strategies. Previously, as a Global Maintenance Specialist Engineer at Kinross Gold Corporation, Italo managed maintenance budgeting and processes across various sites. With an extensive career at Kinross Brasil Mineração, Italo progressed through multiple roles, including Engenheiro Especialista de Manutenção and Engenheiro de Confiabilidade, ultimately contributing to significant improvements in maintenance processes and equipment reliability. Additionally, Italo has academic experience as a professor in mechanical and production engineering courses and holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering focused on tribology.
