Miriam Darby

School Leader at KIPP DC Public Schools

Miriam Darby joined KIPP DC in July 2011 as a founding first grade teacher for KIPP DC Heights Academy. She is currently the principal of KIPP DC Heights Academy. Miriam is from Louisville, Kentucky and studied Social Work and Women’s Studies at Providence College. After college, she obtained her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University in 2006. She then began teaching kindergarten and first grade in the Boston area, for five years before moving to DC. When Miriam isn’t working she can be found spending time with friends and family and playing with her Boston Terrier, Bruno.
