Kirstin Alberi, Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, University of California, Berkeley 2008. Kirstin has a deep background in spectroscopy of compound semiconductors, with a particular focus on the roles of disorder, localization and heterointerfaces on optoelectronic properties. She joined the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) as a postdoc in 2008 and is now a staff scientist in the Materials Physics group. Her research interests include the design and epitaxy of electronic materials for high efficiency photovoltaics, solid-state lighting and other energy-relevant technologies.
