Bob’s career has spanned finance, technology and law across all stages of corporate growth from startup to and through IPO. He began his career as a corporate lawyer, becoming a partner of national law firm McGuireWoods and General Counsel of investment bank FBR. He went on to become COO of FBR where his combination of technical knowledge and regulatory expertise enabled him to co-invent the first browser-based IPO engine. He was instrumental in taking FBR and its affiliated investment company public. During his affiliation with FBR the company grew from 18 to 500 people, from startup to $5B market-cap company. He subsequently founded and ran his own investment and advisory firm. Successful exits include an online lender/lead generator (sale), an offshore re-insurance company (IPO), and a defense contractor (ESOP). He co-founded Welbeck Secure (network security), National Capital Merchant Banking (technology and government contracting) and also serves as the CFO of Agbotic Inc (robotic organic SmartFarms). He has served as an executive officer or director of six institutionally-backed companies, including four public companies.
