CEO, Kobalt Neighbouring Rights at Kobalt Music

Ann Tausis is the CEO of Kobalt Neighbouring Rights at Kobalt Music. Prior to this, they were the Managing Director of Kobalt Neighbouring Rights Ltd. from June 2013 to June 2019. Ann also served as the Director of European Regional Administration at Universal Music Publishing Group from June 2012 to May 2013. From October 1996 to May 2012, they were the Director of Global Copyright at Universal Music Publishing Int. Ltd. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing a department of 6 and circulating all copyright-related data from UMP's centralized database to 40+ affiliates and sub-publishers around the world. Ann was also responsible for timely and accurate song registrations to local collection societies around the world, implementing and maintaining worldwide copyright standards and procedures within UMP, providing training to UMP local affiliates, and working closely with Business Systems Department to improve existing software as well as defining and developing new software. In addition, they served as the copyright coordinator for UMP's pan-European licensing deal with SACEM and travelled regularly to UMP European offices and collection societies to ensure that they were kept up to date with developments and maintained efficiency within the organisation. Ann is very familiar with the CWR (Common Works Registration) format and has attended various industry meetings such as Society/Publisher Forum, Eastern & Central Europe Music Publishing Conference, IMPA Admin., GRD (Global Repertoire Database).

Ann Tausis has a degree in English from Stockholm University and a degree in Economics from Tibble Gymnasium.
