Ashley Ufret has a background in computer science and equity integration. Their most recent work experience is with LatinX Digital Leaders Now, where they serve as a Project Manager and CS Equity Integration Specialist. Ashley is also an Americorps American Connection Corps Lead for America Fellow at Latinx DLN. They are passionate about advocating for equity in computer science and improving access for historically underrepresented groups. Ashley's responsibilities include working on projects to bring computer science to youth and providing professional development for educators in CS and equity integration. Prior to this role, Ashley was a CSTA Equity Fellow at the Computer Science Teachers Association. In this role, they participated in a year-long program focused on developing leadership in equitable teaching practices and advocacy. The fellowship provided leadership development opportunities and promoted peer-to-peer professional learning experiences to address equity issues in computer science classrooms.
Ashley Ufret completed their high school education at The Bronx High School of Science from 2001 to 2005. Ashley obtained their High School Diploma with a focus on Math, Science, and Social Services. Ashley then attended The City College of New York from 2005 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology. Finally, they pursued further education at Hunter College from 2016 to 2018, where they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Childhood Education (1-6) and Bilingual Education (K-12).
