Erica Kangas

About

Erica Kangas is the current Director of Engineering at LearnLux. Erica has also previously worked as the VP of Engineering at Dough, a company that empowers people to shop from women+ owned brands, and as a Software Engineer at Crayon. At Crayon, they helped build a competitive intelligence platform that assists businesses in tracking, analyzing, and acting on everything happening outside their four walls. Erica was also responsible for team building at Crayon, conducting coding exercises and interviews for new engineering candidates, and organizing and supporting onboarding processes for new hires. In addition, they spearheaded Crayon’s engineering initiative to support the local tech community by hosting the first meeting of the Boston chapter of Women in Machine Learning and Data Science (WiMLDS).

Erica Kangas has a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from Michigan State University, with a minor in Asian Studies. Erica is also a Ruby on Rails Apprentice from Launch Academy, Inc., and has certification from The Leadership Consortium (TLC) in the TLC Leaders Program Certificate of Completion. Erica also has certification from Coursera in Machine Learning, Big Data in Education, and Social Network Analysis.
