Georges S. Hamouche

AVP, Facilities Management at LEBANESE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY

Mr. Georges S. Hamouche joined LAU as the Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management in July 2007. In his role, he manages the operations of the Facilities Management Department, which is responsible for the orderly planning of growth and the physical development of LAU, in support of the university’s academic mission and goals. He is committed to the development and continuous update of both the Beirut and Byblos campus master plans and infrastructures.

Key responsibilities under Mr. Hamouche’s leadership include operating, maintaining and preserving all university-owned properties and grounds, and managing the design and execution processes of all capital and renovation projects in compliance with the appropriate strategic plan goals.

Mr. Hamouche started his career in 1986 working as a site engineer, later becoming a project engineer, in Lebanon. In 1989, he co-founded the Engineering and Construction company V.G.H. Engineering s.a.r.l., which designs, executes and promotes a range of residential, educational, industrial, and healthcare facilities.

He earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1984, and a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1985, both from the University of Kentucky.

By applying his extensive experience in construction, Mr. Hamouche has helped lead the critical and challenging expansive construction program undertaken at LAU to an appropriately synchronized completion phase.
