Patrick van der Meij

Patrick van der Meij, born in 1978 in Beverwijk, has been a dedicated criminal defense lawyer and partner at Cleerdin & Hamer Advocaten since August 2010. Specializing in criminal law, Van der Meij maintains a strong academic affiliation with Leiden University as a special professor and research fellow, engaging in frequent legal publications. Patrick obtained a PhD in Criminal Law from Leiden University and has served in various educational roles, including as a lecturer at the Gerard Hamer Instituut and guest lecturer at the Eggens Instituut, University of Amsterdam. Additionally, Van der Meij has extensive experience in legal editing and has contributed to multiple legal journals and publications. Past roles include serving as a substitute judge at the Haarlem Court and a member of the disciplinary committee for the KNVB.
