Helena Hornby

Helena Hornby is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in public sector communications, currently serving as the Head of Campaigns, Social Media, and Internal Communications at Staffordshire County Council since June 2021. Helena leads a multi-award-winning team in delivering impactful campaigns and internal communication strategies for over 6,000 staff, aligning efforts with the council's priorities. Previous roles include Senior Communications Officer at Transport for Greater Manchester, where Helena specialized in internal communications during the pandemic, and various key positions at the Environment Agency, focusing on crisis communications and public engagement in flood risk management. Helena has also served on the Executive Committee of LGcomms since March 2022 and participated in the LG Comms Future Leaders programme in 2022, enhancing leadership skills and networking within the communications sector. Helena holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geography from King's College London.
