Thomas van Kralingen is currently a Research Associate at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. Prior to this, they worked at the Center for Drug Discovery at Northeastern University from 2017 to 2021. During this time, they held two roles: Neurochemistry/Behavioral Pharmacology Lab Assistant and Biochemistry Laboratory Assistant. As a Neurochemistry/Behavioral Pharmacology Lab Assistant, they conducted cannabinoid tetrad Behavioral experiments and cannabinoid dependence and withdrawal experiments in mice. As a Biochemistry Laboratory Assistant, they screened and characterized novel compounds able to selectively inhibit endocannabinoid receptors and enzymes, developed selective fluorogenic substrates for endocannabinoid enzymes, and maintained cell lysate stocks.
Thomas van Kralingen received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Northeastern University between 2014 and 2019. Thomas then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Biotechnology (Concentration in Molecular Targets and Drug Discovery) from The Johns Hopkins University between 2020 and 2022.
