Phillip Kydd

Phillip Kydd is the current Director at LifeSpan. Prior to joining LifeSpan, Phillip served as Executive in Residence at the University of Rhode Island from August 2015 to November 2019. In this role, Phillip was responsible for advising university leadership on transportation and mobility concerns, including the successful guidance and implementation of a Transportation and Parking Master Plan (TPMP). This visionary document was awarded a Grow Smart RI award for excellence in planning and paved the way for transformative initiatives such as a reinvented parking management system and campus shuttle operation. Highlights of Phillip's tenure at the University of Rhode Island include the development of a series of programs that have increased the student population use of public transit, the emergence of complete street roadway improvements, a comprehensive wayfinding analysis and design across all campuses and the funding, design and construction of a two mile bike path spur which connects the Kingston campus to the state’s bike path network. A cornerstone achievement, in partnership with the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA), was securing a $8 million grant from USDOT for the establishment of an intermodal transit center to be constructed on the university campus.

Phillip Kydd has a Bachelor of Arts from University of Rhode Island and is certified from Leadership Rhode Island in Sigma and Boston University in Certified Compliance Administrator (CCA).
