Malik Barenco Abbas

Malik Barenco Abbas is a legal professional currently serving as a Legal Secondee (Regulatory) at The Premier League since March 2025, on secondment from Linklaters, where Malik has been a Trainee Solicitor since July 2021, completing rotations in various practice areas including Structured Finance, Litigation, and Financial Regulation. Malik has also engaged in roles such as a Careers Mentor with UCL Law Society, assisting first-year students in navigating legal career opportunities, and contributed to the translation and simplification of legal texts at Libryo Collaborate. Prior experience includes co-founding PseudoIntellectuals to discuss socio-political issues, participating in a Summer Vacation Scheme at Ashurst, and serving in various mentoring and promotional roles at UCL. Malik holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from UCL, completed in 2022, and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from the American School of Brasilia, awarded in 2019.
