Rob Laible

Chief Operating Officer at Liquidnet

As Global Head of Equity Strategy, Risk & Operations, Rob is responsible for the strategy and priorities for Liquidnet’s entire global suite of equities products and services—including block crossing, Liquidnet’s Next Gen Algo suite, analytics, sell side broker flow, CMS and future offerings—for our Members. He also manages implementing effective global risk management policies, controls and processes in support of business growth and in line with all industry standards, ensuring the proper allocation of both capital, technology, and people.

Rob joined Liquidnet in July 2014, as Global Head of Liquidnet’s Execution & Quantitative Services (EQS), and has been instrumental in growing our EQS business to a world-leading suite of products that drives our overall execution ecosystem.

Rob brings more than 20 years of highly-relevant and varied experience. He relocated back to the US from Hong Kong where he was Head of Program Trading and Electronic Execution at Macquarie Securities. He joined Macquarie from Nomura where he was Head of Electronic Trading Sales Globally, Program Trading Sales for APAC, and Cash Sales Trading for AEJ. Prior to that, he was Head of Lehman Brothers’ Prime Services Origination & Electronic Trading in Asia. Before that, Rob spent more than a decade at ITG, helping to build the agency broker and technology firm through developing its advanced trading technologies.
