David Markwell

David Markwell is the Chief Technology and Analytics Officer at Loblaw Companies Limited and a member of the Loblaw Management Board, where they drive technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives. With extensive experience in various leadership roles, including Interim President of Shoppers Drug Mart and Senior Vice President of Information Technology, David has been instrumental in delivering innovative solutions and positive ROI across the organization. A committed educator, David serves as an Adjunct Professor at both Queen's University and York University, teaching courses on technology strategy and AI applications. Additionally, they are actively involved on several boards and committees, championing initiatives in ESG, talent management, and digital healthcare. David is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration and holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance as well as a degree in Electrical Engineering.
