VP Strategy, Product Management, and Product Marketing at Localytics

Stephen Mello is the Vice President of Strategy, Product Management, and Product Marketing at Localytics. Stephen has been with the company since August 2018 and played a leading role in establishing the strategic positioning and operational efficiency that was instrumental to facilitating a successful exit (Sale) of Localytics.

Prior to joining Localytics, Stephen spent 10 years in various leadership roles at software companies including HubSpot, where they led the product team that launched HubSpot’s first marketing software product, and Pardot, which was acquired by ExactTarget/Salesforce in 2013.

At Localytics, Stephen established a vision, product strategy and value prop for the company focused on Intelligent Personalization, leveraging Localytics deep customer data stores and understanding. Stephen ensured Vision / Strategy was operationalized through the Product Roadmap and drove a 10% reduction in COGS in 2019 leading to improved Gross Profit Margin with no negative impact on solution performance. Stephen also Shed underperforming SKUs helping to improve margins and solution stability.

In addition, Stephen rebuilt all portions of the team adding improved skill and energy overall, specifically:

-Orienting Product Management and Engineering on agile approach utilizing management tools like JIRA and Product Plan to improve planning, execution and quality of output

-Restructuring the Design team to ensure a focus on external input to product development and UX, leading to improved customer satisfaction

-Adding Data Science capability to the team

Stephen Mello reports to Jude McColgan, CEO. Stephen Mello works with Jon Wu - VP Financial Planning and Analysis, Sarah Gorman - VP, Customer Success Service Delivery, and Matt Katz - Head of Customer Success.
