Fatima Asif

Fatima Asif, Ph.D., currently serves as a Staff Engineer in Process Integration at Lumentum, a position held since August 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Dry Etch Process Engineer at Intel Corporation from May 2019 to December 2021 and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Photonics and Microelectronics Lab (PML) at the University of South Carolina-Columbia, where responsibilities involved device processing and characterization of III-N based deep UV-LEDs, HEMTs, and MOSFETs from July 2015 to August 2018. Additionally, Asif was a Graduate Research Assistant at PML from August 2009 to May 2015, focusing on the development of processing and packaging schemes for high power and efficiency III-Nitride based deep UVLED lamps, as well as electrical and optical characterization of these devices. Teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant for Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of South Carolina from August 2011 to December 2014. Asif earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Microelectronics) in 2015 and a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2011, both from the University of South Carolina.
