Miguel Valenzuela

Miguel Valenzuela is an experienced mill metallurgist and process engineer currently employed at Lundin Mining Corporation since February 2014. Responsibilities include providing technical support for mill operations, optimizing process control, and leading Lean Six Sigma project implementations. Prior to this role, Miguel served as a Metallurgist Engineer of Technology at BHP Billiton, overseeing a metallurgical pilot plant, improving safety and efficiency of operations, and enhancing communication among multicultural teams. Earlier experience at Xstrata Copper involved statistical analysis and quality improvement in copper production, while initial roles included mechanical supervision at Forklift Rent and Repair. Miguel holds a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Concepción and a Technical License from the Center of Higher Technology Education.
