Lung cancer nonprofit LUNGevity has named Dr. Elizabeth (Libby) Barksdale its new Director of Regulatory Affairs and Scientific Policy. Dr. Barksdale will play a key role in developing and executing the company’s regulatory affairs strategy, as well as offering research and scientific content for its policy work.

"Her extensive body of work in the field of oncology is well regarded among her peers in the biomedical research community. We know that under Libby's guidance, we will continue to provide much-needed regulatory advocacy for lung cancer research."
Dr. Barksdale comes to LUNGevity from the American Association for Cancer Research, where she served as Assistant Director for Regulatory Science and Policy. Prior to that, she focused on clinical research and biomedical research training at the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. She has a PhD in molecular medicine from The George Washington University.
