Jafari Bowden has extensive experience in the field of safety and security in the transportation industry. Jafari began their career as a Bus Operator at New Jersey Transit in 1996 and worked in that role until 2007. Jafari then joined Palm Tran, where they served as an Operations Supervisor and later as a Safety & Training Supervisor, responsible for overseeing safety initiatives, incident investigations, and operator training. In 2016, they became a Safety & Training Officer at Palm Tran, further enhancing their expertise in safety management. In 2018, Jafari Bowden joined the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) as a Safety Officer and later advanced to the role of Manager of Safety & Security. In this position, they ensured compliance with safety regulations and implemented training programs for over 1100 employees. Currently, they serve as the Interim Director of Safety and Security at LYNX, where they are responsible for reducing workplace hazards, monitoring incidents, and providing safety expertise to management.
