René Scholtes

René Scholtes is an experienced leader in the chemical engineering sector, currently serving as Site Manager for the LyondellBasell Moerdijk site since May 2007. Scholtes has held various key positions at LyondellBasell, including Operations Startup Manager for the Circular Steam Project, Operations Manager for the Maasvlakte site, and Technology Manager for the Botlek and Maasvlakte sites. Prior roles include Senior Operations Engineer and Production Engineer, showcasing a strong background in operations and process engineering. Scholtes began a career as a Process Engineer at ABB Lummus Global and holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology.
