Peter Warne

Independent Chairman at Macquarie Group

Peter Warne is an Australian business executive who has had a long and successful career in a variety of industries. Peter is currently the independent chairman of Macquarie Group, a position they have held since 2007. Prior to this, they served as the chairman of TCorp from 2012 to 2020, and as the chairman of ALE Property Group from 2003 to 2017. Peter also served on the board of the Australian Securities Exchange from 2006 to 2020, and on the Securities Exchange Guarantee Corporation from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their corporate roles, Warne has also served on the NSW Net Zero Emissions and Clean Economy Board, and on the advisory board of the Australian Office of Financial Management. Peter is a graduate of St Andrews Cathedral School and holds a degree in economics from the University of Sydney.

Peter Warne graduated from the Institute of Actuaries with an associate degree in actuarial science. Peter then went on to complete a bachelor's degree in actuarial studies at Macquarie University. After working in the industry for several years, they decided to return to school to earn their certificate in finance and investment.
