Terry Myerson

Strategic Director at Madrona

As Strategic Director, Terry advises Madrona portfolio companies at the earliest stages of innovation and, with later stage companies, as they build to scale. Terry is CEO of Truveta, a company using data to save lives that launched in 2020 following the onset of the pandemic. Prior to that role, he was a Venture Partner with Madrona for two years during which time he led the investment in TwinStrand and advised Madrona portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Madrona, Terry was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Microsoft, leading the development of Windows, Surface, and Xbox. During his 21-year career at Microsoft, Terry also led the development of Microsoft Exchange, during which time it became the world’s most popular business communications system and the foundation for today’s Office 365.

Earlier in his career, Terry cofounded Intersé, one of the first web software companies, which Microsoft acquired in 1997.

Terry is active on both ends of the investing and company building spectrum. He is also currently an Operating Executive at the Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest private equity funds, where he works on evaluating investments in established technology companies.
